This month Tom Mander, Direct Air’s newest Sales Engineer was presented with an award for his first compressor sale. Tom sold a CompAir L15RS compressor as his first sale this April and was given this award by Andrew Power, Country Manager at Ingersoll-Rand.

Tom moved over to the sales department in March 2024 after being part of Direct Air’s service and installation engineering teams the last 5 years.

After being given the opportunity of delving into sales, Tom is now thriving in this new role as Sales Engineer!

At Direct Air there are different routes for progression and change to suit each of our teams individual requirements, ensuring they’re happy and their skills are being used in the best way.

We can’t wait to see how Tom continues to develop as he takes his new direction within his career and the company.

“I am really enjoying the Sales Engineer role so far, although I did like being part of the company’s engineering departments, I’m glad I took the opportunity to move to Sales. I’m specifically enjoying building relationships with new and existing customers as I believe this is so important when being a Sales Engineer. I have found that my previous background in engineering has provided me with an extra perspective when offering the best solutions to customers.

I was overwhelmed with the award I received but also incredibly proud of the progress I have made in such a short amount of time. I’m really looking forward to expanding the knowledge I have already learnt and continuing my journey in Sales”
