Compressed Air Sales/Auditing Support Engineer

Due to continued expansion Direct Air are looking to employ a mechanical/electrical engineering biased graduate or similar whose primary role will be to support and conduct compressor audits at companies throughout the UK.

Compressed Air generation accounts for up to 10% of industries energy consumption and the potential for savings can be enormous. With rapidly increasing energy costs this new dedicated role will enable Direct Air to strengthen its reputation for providing good advice and recommendations based upon the audit data.

Key roles will include;

  • Installing Auditing Equipment at Customer Sites
  • Carrying out Energy Audits, Leak Detection Surveys and Air Quality Audits
  • Preparation of Audit Reports
  • Presentation of Energy Audits to the client
  • Project Costing
  • Project Management Support
  • Sales Support

A training programme covering all aspects of the company’s operation, compressed air systems, compressed air auditing, leak detection etc. will be provided.

The job will be predominately Mon-Fri, with opportunities for out-of-hours work in line with business requirements.

Key skills required for the role include

  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering knowledge advantageous
  • A hands-on approach is required
  • Excellent IT skills in all Microsoft Packages
  • Lots of initiative

  • The ability to explain design ideas and plans clearly

Warehouse Apprentice

Due to ongoing growth we require to recruit a keen enthusiastic individual who will work within the stores/warehouse department providing support to our service and installation departments. During your apprenticeship, you will work within all areas of the business to ensure you gain solid all-round experience and an understanding of what we do.

The successful candidate will be enrolled onto a Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operator Apprenticeship Standard.

Duties will involve:

  • Receiving and despatching goods
  • Move and stack materials
  • General housekeeping duties in the warehouse or other areas and duties as assigned
  • Preparing job boxes for service department
  • Assisting the Stores Manager
  • Support the team in day-to-day purchasing including raising purchase orders, liaising with suppliers on delivery, prices, and availability

Compressor Service Engineer

Available positions: 1
Reporting location: Coventry

Direct Air is looking for a new service engineer with either a mechanical or electrical bias, to join our expanding compressed air service team. Direct Air are based in Coventry & Cheltenham but provide service support to UK wide facilities.

The role

  • You will carry out preventative and reactive maintenance, fault finding & repairs on all types of industrial compressed air equipment.
  • Attendance to call outs on customers sites in or out of normal working hours to attend to breakdowns when they occur.
  • Attending manufacturers training courses as necessary.
  • Providing the highest standard of service or repairs to build on our already excellent relationship with our customers.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to also work as part of a team is essential.
  • Prepare and submit completed job sheets carried out both on paper and electronically.
  • Effective communication with colleagues and customers.
  • Identify and recommend system & new product upgrades to Sales team.

KEY COMPETENCIES.

  • The ideal candidate must have great communication skills and have experience in mechanical and electrical fault-finding work.
  • Work safely in line with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Show enthusiasm for the job in hand and demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised
  • A patient and methodical approach.
  • Be prepared to work away from home and at weekends when occasionally required
  • Be able to understand electrical and mechanical schematic drawings and diagrams
  • Be prepared to take part in the ON CALL rota that provides 24 Hour call-out to our customer base
  • Installation experience not essential but would be useful
  • Valid full driver’s license and safe driving record required.
  • Experience/awareness of compressed air systems [desirable]

Service Engineers will be provided with all equipment required to complete the work including mobile phones, tablet and calibrated testing equipment. Engineers will be provided with a company vehicle.

Company branded work clothing will be provided along with all PPE

Service Engineers will be paid overtime, call-out payments, service engineer bonus scheme in addition to the basic salary offered

21 – 24 days holiday plus statutory bank holidays per year
